rhomeDOG is a Dallas, Texas community brand: markets, events, a journal, a member list, and a shop. These are the rules for using rhomedog.com. They're short on purpose. By using the site, making an account, RSVPing, selling, or buying, you agree to them. If you don't, that's fine, but please don't use the site.

The short version

• Be 18 or older. One account per person. Don't pretend to be someone else.
• What you post is yours. You let us show it on the site. Don't post anything you wouldn't say to someone's face.
• An RSVP is a heads-up, not a ticket. Events fill up and sometimes change.
• The shop is a marketplace. Sellers sell; rhomeDOG connects you and handles the money through Stripe.
• We can remove content or close accounts that break these rules. You can close yours any time.

Your account

You need to be at least 18 to make an account. Keep to one account, use your own email, and don't share access. You're responsible for what happens under your account. Sign-in is by a code we email you or through Google, so keep that inbox yours.

Every member gets a dog number. It's yours while your account exists. Numbers are never reused, so if you delete your account the number retires with it.

Handles are first come, first served. We may reclaim a handle that impersonates a person, brand, or event, or that sits unused on an empty account. We may also refuse or close any account at our discretion, and we will if it's used to harass people, spam, or game the site.

You can delete your account from the settings page. That removes your tag, friends, and preferences for good. Order records and anything we're required to keep stay, as described in the privacy policy.

Your tag and what you post

Your tag is your handle, name, city, bio, avatar, and links. Other members can see it. You own what you put there. You give us permission to show it on the site and in the things the site does, like a friend list or an event's guest list. That permission ends when you take it down or delete your account.

Don't post anything that's illegal, hateful, sexually explicit, or that impersonates or harasses anyone. Don't post someone else's work as your own. Don't upload anything you don't have the right to. We can take down anything that breaks these rules without notice.

Friend requests, messages, and blocking exist so you control who you talk to. Messages are private between the two of you and we don't read them. The same rules apply inside a message as on a tag: no harassment, no spam, nothing illegal. Blocking someone hides you from each other and ends the conversation. Don't use the site to get around a block.

Events

An RSVP tells us you plan to come and helps us plan. It is not a ticket, a reservation, or a promise of entry. Events have capacity, and a waitlist when they fill. Dates, venues, and lineups can change, and events can be cancelled. We'll tell you through the email or phone you gave us when something changes.

Events are in real places with real people. Follow the venue's rules and the staff's directions. We can ask anyone to leave. Photos and video are taken at our events and may be used by rhomeDOG in the journal, on social, and in promotion. If you don't want to appear, tell a member of the crew at the event, and if you see yourself in something and want it gone, contact us and we'll take it down.

You come at your own risk.Markets and parties involve crowds, weather, vendors' goods, sometimes alcohol, and other people's dogs. By attending you accept the ordinary risks of being there. rhomeDOG isn't responsible for injury, loss, or damage at an event except where it's caused by our own negligence and the law says we must be. Drink responsibly and get home safe.

Where an event has a paid element, the ticket terms shown at purchase apply alongside these.

The shop

rhomeDOG is a marketplace. The pieces in the shop are sold by independent sellers, not by us. The seller owns the item, describes it, prices it, ships it, and answers for it. We run the storefront, take payment through Stripe, keep a fee, and pass the rest to the seller.

Buying.When you buy a piece, you're buying from the seller. Stripe processes your payment; we never see your card. We give the seller your name and shipping address so they can ship it, and nothing else. Sellers must ship within three business days of your order, with tracking. If a seller doesn't ship, you get a full refund and the seller is removed from the shop.

Tax.Prices are shown before tax. Sales tax is calculated at checkout based on your shipping address, and rhomeDOG collects and remits it as the marketplace, so sellers don't have to.

Condition.Most of what's in the shop is vintage or secondhand. Sellers must describe condition honestly, including flaws. Read the listing. If a piece arrives materially different from how it was described, contact us within seven days of delivery and we'll sort it out with the seller. Otherwise all sales are final.

Selling. Selling requires approval and a Stripe account for payouts. Sellers agree to the seller agreement we provide at approval, which sits alongside these terms and covers the fee, shipping deadlines, refunds, and removal. You may only list items you own and have the right to sell. No counterfeits, no stolen goods, no prohibited items.

Our role.Because the seller is the merchant, rhomeDOG makes no warranty about any item and isn't liable for a seller's item, description, or shipping beyond the refund described above. We'll always help sort out a problem, but the sale is between you and the seller.

Our content

The rhomeDOG name, wordmark, the dog, the journal, and the site design are ours. Share links freely. Don't copy the site, scrape the member list, or use the brand on your own stuff without asking. Journal writers keep the rights to their words and let us publish them.

Don't

• Make accounts with a script, or more than one account for yourself.
• Scrape, harvest, or collect other members' information.
• Send spam through invites, friend requests, or anything else.
• Try to get into accounts, systems, or data that aren't yours.
• Use the site for anything illegal.

Ending things

You can delete your account at any time from the settings page. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or if we shut the site down. If we close your account for a rule break, we may refuse a new one. Parts of these terms that by their nature should outlive an account, like the shop refund rules and the liability section, keep applying.

The legal part

The site is provided as it is. We work hard on it, but we don't promise it'll always be up, bug-free, or that an event will go as planned. To the extent the law allows, rhomeDOG isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses from using the site or attending an event, and our total liability to you for anything arising from these terms is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that the law doesn't let us limit.

You agree to cover us for claims that come from your content, your listings, or your breaking these terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any dispute goes to the state or federal courts in Dallas County, Texas, and you agree to that. If a part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest stays.

Changes

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top and, if it's a big change, email members. Using the site after that means you accept the new version.
